Trainwreck is a cross of two Sativa landraces — Mexican and Thai — with an Afghani Indica added to shorten the growth cycle and round out the high with a soothing undertone. The result is a fast-hitting, cerebral rush that lands more like a jolt of energy than a typical body high.

The name traces back to a strain grown near Arcata, California in the 1970s — legend has it a nearby train derailment brought a flood of authorities into the area, and most of the crop was destroyed except for a few standout plants that carried the name forward.

Trainwreck also carries a notably high concentration of alpha-pinene, a terpene associated with alertness and pain relief, which lines up with the strain's reputation as a go-to for managing discomfort without heavy sedation.
