- Locked and out of view: Plants must be kept somewhere that can't be viewed openly, and in homes with residents under 21, the grow area must be in a separate locked space minors can't access.
- Local rules can be stricter: Cities and counties can add further restrictions. Denver, for example, caps household grows at 12 plants regardless of how many adults live there, and Colorado Springs adds square-footage limits and requires odor-control ventilation.
